A Time For Celebration

Good afternoon Montreal and the world!  We have a few hours left til 2018.

Now first let’s talk about 2017.

Mi Gente. For the first 6 months of 2017 January 1 to June 1, your boy and Flavie and my team were going hard, travelling around the world, partying, teaching at festivals, working hard and having a blast. The money was fantastic too, well I don’t know exactly because I was too busy turning up. But everything was going the way it was supposed to go. And then #stuckinlisbon happened followed by #stuckincanada. Just check out my blog for all the stories, laughter, tears, fighting, crying, rants and venting that happened in the 192 days from June 1 until I got my freedom back.

Now let’s talk about yesterday. My 7 year anniversary gala GALA. The food was on deck. Flavie’s mom killed it in the kitchen, everybody went crazy on the chicken. My students were cute, dressed in white. We all gave that angel feeling. And the crowd! Oh my god, the crowd. The people, the friends, the laughs, the joy, the screams, the drinks, the celebration, everything was on deck on point! Fuck! 190 ppl in Espace des Arts. Say what?! 190 people celebrating the anniversary of the first kizomba dance school in America – the continent. You know I am smiling. You know you can see my last teeth right now, that’s happy I am. Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.

Thank you so much for giving me the flowers before I die, my people. I am gonna talk about Nico Krump for coming out and partying with your boy. I am gonna talk about Kizomba Gerry for making me work fucking hard bc his event is really good and competition is good. Todd Rose, my brother came all the way from TO to show some love. Tyler and Misha that took the plane from California. My Vermont babies drove up as a squad. Casanova, my baby little Gata Morena Urban Kiz dude from Boston showed some love and respect for his bigger brother. Tara, I see you what you’re doing, representing Mtl around the world, that’s the way to go. And for everybody else that came to the party, really tho, it was dope. Thank you so much, 100 times muchas gracias and love.

Now for everybody that didn’t come to the party, especially the guys that learned from Kizomba Canada but pretend they didn’t, you missed a great party. You missed all of Montreal vibing in the same place, in the same place where we started kizomba, in Espace Des Arts. Thank you Dominique. Thank you Montuno. Thank you JP. Thank you Marina. Thank you Hamlet. Thank you for making that possible. Make sure you jump into the new year with both feet like a motherfucking jewish dancing mazel tov, breaking that glass.

My people, see you tonight! Yes. See you at the airBnb. We got girls and alcohol and laughs. We gonna celebrate 2017 and start 2018 by screaming and streaming live live live live on Facebook. If you wanna join, just inbox your boy on Facebook. No going out, no events. Safely counting down in one place, turning it up the only way your boy knows how.

For everybody around the world, thank you for the love and support and likes and clicks. I am thankful. I am thankful for being myself because I didn’t want to be anyone else, bitches.
