Day 1 | A Portuguese Situation
Mi Gente! It’s your boy, Dr Kizomba. Here’s the current situation.
As some of you might know, Flavie and I had our bags stolen at the airport in Barcelona on our way to the Kizomba Sunrise Beach Festival in Algarve. All our stuff: wallets, IDs, cards… and passports. Gone. That’s some fucked up shit.
So here we are #stuckinLisbon. The Canadian government? Slooooooooow. Flavie (Canadian citizen) should be getting her new passport this/next week. Your Doctor (Canadian resident)? Well… Processing time for travel documents for Permanent Residents is ~ 2 months. I told you: that’s some fucked up shit.
But Mi Gente, your Doctor is a hustler. #stuckinLisbon with no money and no ID, your doctor has been dancing at all the clubs and showing these people what GOOD kizomba looks like, and am starting to land some small gigs.
To all the festival organizers and promoters: we are doing everything we can to speed up the process. To all my friends, across the world: I can’t come to you, but if any of you want to come to me in Lisbon… Wepa!
Mi Gente, that’s the current situation. I’ll post updates here regularly.
